Save the date for a workshop on Monitoring Nordic trends in demography and jobs at Nordregio on 11th March 2014.
As part of the work within the Nordic working group on demography and welfare, Nordregio is developing a web-mapping tool making it possible to monitor the key development trends linked to demography, jobs, and accessibility in the Nordic countries.
The target groups of the workshop are practitioners, planners and analysts involved interested in tools and methods for territorial benchmarking typically representing national, regional or local authorities.
The objectives of the workshop are:
- To present the added-value and functionalities of an interactive web-mapping tool producing thematic maps based on demographic indicators for different administrative scales (national, regional, municipal) and functional territories (such as local labor markets, sparsely populated areas, mountainous region).
- To participate at the elaboration process of the web-mapping tool by suggesting specific future user needs.
- To discuss the added-value of the tool and how it complements existing tools.
